Approximation of geometric flows by phase-field models
Mercredi, 6 Mars, 2019 - 17:00
Résumé :

Phase-field approximations of surface motions, such as mean curvature flow and Willmore flow, have raised quite a lot of interest in recent years, both from the theoretical and the numerical viewpoints.

In this talk, we will see that this approach not only provides a natural generalized motion after the formation of singularities but also allows us to construct modified flows to handle certain topological constraints.
